Overview

Since graduating, Alex has undertaken many assistant director roles, including at Nottingham Playhouse, working with Fiona Buffini and at Bristol Old Vic assisting Lee Lyford. In addition, Alex has also directed several new writing works in progress, helping new writers to see their work in performance. Most recently directing Our Blood is An Ocean at Bristol Old Vic's Weston Studio and at Plymouth Fringe. Alex's other recent credits include Wreck by Toby Campion, a new writing thriller at Nottingham Playhouse,

Guys and Dolls at The Squire Arts Centre and Legally Blonde at Royal & Derngate.

 

For the community, Alex produced a nationally touring production of Wave; an adaptation by Gill Brigg of Shakespeare's The Tempest, for young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and autism. She wrote, produced and directed a number of community pantomime workshops for an inner city care home in Nottingham, specialising in the care of those with dementia and worked on The Ramps on the Moon and SPLASH projects. Alex left her freelance role as the Musicals Young Company Director and Practitioner at Royal & Derngate to embark on a Director in Residence position at King's Ely in 2020 and continues to work on freelance projects.
